World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft

What is World of Warcraft?

World of Warcraft is a very addicting massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) with more than 10 million players around the world. It is the most popular MMORPG in the world right now.

The goal of World of Warcraft or WoW for short is to level to the maximum current level of 80 and then gear out your character. You can't really beat the game because there is so much content to see and so many things to do. It truly is like a whole other world.

After you create your first character on the server of your choosing you have to level it to 80. To level you need to complete quests to get experience for each level. As you are leveling it is a good idea to grab two professions so that you can make some extra in game currency known as gold. Depending on the professions you choose, you can either make a lot of gold or items you can use to better your character.

Many people find it addicting just leveling to 80 because of the thrill of learning new abilities and meeting and interacting with other players in the game. Leveling is only half of the fun though. Once you hit the maximum level of 80, you can now participate in the very competitive arena system. The arena is all about player versus player combat to see who is the best. There are three brackets: 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5. I find that the most competitive and fun is the 2v2 bracket.

If PvP isn't for you then you can group up with other players to defeat bosses in dungeons to better your gear. Better gear means you can defeat other enemies easier and be more of an asset to your group to move on to greater and newer content.

Some people find it fun to just "farm" to make as much gold as possible. Farming can be done in many ways, but the most popular is to go out and gather items to sell on the auction house to other players.

Even after you have completed the latest and greatest content in the game your fun doesn't end there. There is always something to do as the game is available for play 24/7 with millions of other fellow players to interact with.

This is only a very small part of what you can do in the World of Warcraft. If you have some spare time then i would recomment playing WoW, but be aware that it is very addicting.
